Heisann, trenger litt hjelp her

Uansett. Lykke til! ;)

Album Review : Where to start. Well first of all, to those who no nothing of the Hate, they're a death metal band with techno here and there with female vocals thrown in, just for good measure. The mastermind behind the band is Lord K. Philipson, who also plays in God Among Insects, though both bands sound nothing like each other. Male vocals are handled by the one and only Jörgen Sandström of Grave and Entombed fame, in case you don't know who he is, tut tut. Female vocals are handled excellently by Ms. Jo Enckell, who makes her TPH debut on this album, after previous vocalissa Mia Ståhl was fired by the band. The album was recorded in Soundlab Studios, Örebro, Sweden with the late Mieszko Talarczyk handling things.

The production on this is excellent, very heavy, skull crushing heavy in parts if you will. A major step up from the previous release, When We Are Done, Your Flesh Will Be Ours, things seem to pick up, dramatically on here. Every note is played to perfection, every keyboard piece works and doesn't seem forced.

The first track, Hate is perfectly named. The hate spewed forth is unbelievable. Lord K himself lays down some of thee most hateful screams, I know, I asked him, followed by razor sharp bass lines that'll cut your balls off, then stamp them to pieces while you look on in shear horror. The opening piece is quite, how shall I say, quite haunting, leading into a false sense of security before bang, it hits, the Jörgen enters the fray and then you know you are in trouble.

Nailed, is the one track that is so heavy, the angels fall to earth under its shear weight, ready to be beat upon by the rest of the track, all 7:09 of it.

If these two tracks don't get your juices flowing, Burn certainly will. Yes it's a long'un but it has so many different things happening, you'll nerver get bored. The vocal trade off is something that has to be heard to be believed. I could describe it but that won't do the shear awesomness of this piece of art, yes art, justice. Alot of fans say that this is their favourite song, and the amount of arse it kicks, I'm not surprised in the slightest. Believe me when I say, don't be put off by the length, do yourself a favour, listen to this song, I demand it.

Weep rounds off the album very nicely indeed. It's a mid paced song right through, vocals done entirely by Ms. Jo, who shows what she can do, at the time. She is even better now, which is quite scary, considering how awesome she is on this track. The keyboards are superb here, especially about a third of the way through, then a brilliant riff kicks in at 3:15, with the keyboards still there in the background. This is no power metal keyboard cheese fest by the way. They are there to add atmosphere and succeed. It's proberbly in my top 5 album closing songs, ever.

Closing Comments : A superb album, where everything came together. Not everyone will like it though, which is a shame for a band doing their own thing, like no one else is. No fillers too.

Final Rating : 9.5/10

Var ikke klar over at skiva varte i en time og ti minutter før jeg leste den her
