Dette er en analyse og ikke en test, men de kommer visst med en test av dette iløpet av dagen såvidt jeg forstod. Konklusjonen fra denne analysen er likevel interessant:

For the gamer, however, PCI-Express is going to be a non-issue.  Given that most games today barely stress the AGP 2x bus, moving to double AGP 8x isn’t going to do anything.  It’s the equivalent of widening a highway no one drives on.  Had AGP developed in the direction it was intended to things might be different, but it didn’t.  Now, to some extent, it’s a solution to a problem no one has.

jeg har ikke veldig mye greie på dette, men det er nogenlunde slik jeg tenker jeg også, nettopp det at ytelsen er nogenlunde den samme på et 9800pro om du kjører agp 4x eller 8x..

The number of people that are going to benefit from PCI-Express, regardless, are small.  Is it a bad technology?  Not at all.  Its no slower than AGP, and its probably cheaper in the long run.  But would we pay a big cost premium for a PCI-E card and board right now because they were PCI-E?
