Tool's Maynard James Keenan Loses Mother

(6/22/03, 7 a.m. ET) -- The mother of Tool and A Perfect Circle vocalist Maynard James Keenan died on Wednesday (June 18). Both bands' official websites, toolband.com and aperfectcircle.com, show a picture of Judith Marie Keenan/Garrison, and the words "November 22, 1943 - June 18, 2003.... Pillar of faith and determination. You will be missed." It wasn't known at press time how she died.

 

Keenan will be back in action as part of this summer's Lollapalooza. A Perfect Circle is booked for the second half of the tour, starting August 15 in Phoenix, Arizona.

 

A Perfect Circle is finishing up work on a new album, the follow up to 2001's Mer De Noms.
