SOURCES TELL the INQ that the Nforce 3 250, formerly called the CK8S, is set to arrive at the end of January and come in two flavours.

 

Theres the bog standard Nforce 3 250, a 754 pin compatible chipset, and then theres the deluxe version, the Nforce 250Gb. This will come with Gigabit Ethernet, and two Serial ATA options, it appears.

 

But thats not all. In the middle of February there will arrive the CK8S2, which supports the 939-pin Athlon 64, and that will include four Serial ATA as well as Gigabit Ethernet.

 

AMD is telling the world+dog but not hacks or hackettes that the 939 pin babies are now slated to be released at the end of March next year.

 

Wait, theres more... The CK8-04 that will support PCI Express is now slated for Q3 of next year.

 

We understand that Nvidia is going to provide firewall protection in hardware in all the new parts they supply.

 

And as far as MCPS is concerned, well see GbE MCPS and MCPS RAID in early February next year, while the current MCP-T will continue to live.
