Skalerer nok mindre enn Alder lake pga større cache. Raptor lake '3D' med megacache hadde vært noe, da har vi nok gamingkongen :)

Intel Core i9-13900K is reportedly 60% faster in 7-Zip decompression test than i9-12900K

Raichu provided a screenshot showing the 7-Zip benchmark with compression and decompression ratings. The new processor is around 20% faster than 12900K in compression test, but also significantly faster in decompression. With a rating of 231 GIPS, it is 60% faster than 12900K’s 144 GIPS.

Both systems were using the same DDR5-6400CL32 memory, but there is no information on the motherboard used or memory capacity.

 

For sammenligning, gjør 13900k det mye bedre mot 5950x i denne benchmarken nå.. (post your 7-Zip v22.00 scores @ TPU forum)

But that's not all, the Intel Raptor Lake CPUs are also shown to deliver some great memory support of up to 7400 Mbps on existing Z690 motherboards. The Core i9-13900K supported DDR5-7400 and the Core i7-13700K/Core i5-13600K offered good support for DDR5-7000 memory while DDR5-6800 is said to be the sweet spot. There's also Gear 1 support for DDR5 memory up to DDR4-4256-CL17. As for power consumption, the Intel Core i9-13900K consumed around 400W of power at over 1.5V while the Core i7-13700K consumed around 290W of power with a voltage of over 1.5V to achieve a similar 6.2 GHz P-Core overclock.

Intel 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake-S” lineup leaks out, 4 to 24 cores and three different dies

Om jeg leser dette rett så er det kun 13900's alt over I5 som er ny Raptor Lake die, mens alt under er "bare" er rebrenda Alder Lake (?)

It is revealed that there are three dies, and only the 13th Gen Core i9 series are to feature two clusters of Efficient cores. This is supposedly the only new die in the Raptor Lake series. There should be three SKUs based on this silicon: 13900K, 13900KF, 13900 and 13900F.

The 13th Gen Core i5 series are to be further divided to K-series using new B0 silicon and non-K SKUs with C0 silicon, which according to HXL is a refresh of Alder Lake silicon (ADL-R). Mid-range and entry-level Raptor Lake are to offer 14, 10 or 4 cores. The slowest Raptor Lake CPU (Core i3-13100) is listed with four Performance cores and no Efficient cores available.

I ran some Champsim simulations with the different cache sizes, and expect IPC gains to be minor (simulations showed under 1% IPC improvement, though I feel the setup tends to underestimate gains). But focusing on IPC gains at fixed clock speed misses the larger picture. L2 misses decreased by 14.55% and 16.05% on the simulated P-Core and E-Core configurations, respectively. That means less data has to be pulled across the chip’s ring bus, saving power. High performance CPUs are often power limited, so using less power to move data around means that power could be spent hitting higher clocks. At higher clocks, Intel’s ring bus often doesn’t keep pace with core clock. Catching more accesses within L2 will minimize IPC loss as clock speed increases. And of course, there are bandwidth benefits to getting higher L2 hitrate. All of that comes together to give Raptor Lake some nice potential for performance and power efficiency increases, even if Intel doesn’t change the core architecture.

Intel 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake” CPUS have been listed by Canadian retailer, i9-13900K for 726 USD

The Core i9-13900K is listed for 941 CAD, which is around 726 USD. This is a higher price than i9-12900K from the same store who sell it for 631 USD. It is still cheaper than the KS-variant offering higher clocks (824 USD) though. Overall, the Core i9 series get a 95 to 100 USD price increase at this one retailer.

Raptor Lake i7-series are listed for 511/483 USD, which is more expensive than Alder Lake models at 436/411 USD. That’s respectively an increase of 75 USD for 1x700K model and 72 USD for SKU without integrated graphics.

Finally, new Core i5 series are listed at 355/327 USD, which is again respectively higher than predecessors at 308/259 USD (an increase of 47-68 USD).

Kan se ut som om boost clocks dropper veldig fort for alt annet enn 13900k? Vet ikke hvor bra dette lover for low end market.. Ser jo ut som om AMD planlegger å konkurrere med færre (e-)kjerner og høyere klokkehastighet.

Edit: 
 Sjekka med 5.3ghz 12900k og 6800mhz cl 32, noe som ikkje er veldig vanskelig.
 2197 singlecore score i Geek 5.
Noe sier meg at den testen der er kjørt med treigt ddr5 xmp minne :p

Do note that AMD's Ryzen 7000 CPUs & AM5 platform will be hitting retail shelves the same day as Intel's announcement. As per the schedule, Intel will begin taking pre-orders for the Core i9-13900K (F) on the 27th of September while pre-orders for the Core i7-13700K (F) and Core i5-13600K (F) are going to open on the 13th of October. Currently, we don't have the embargo date but this means the blue team will have their next-gen parts launching almost a month after AMD's Zen 4 lands on the desktop PC platforms.
