Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello

The Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello is the first of a number of fan favorite tracks that are making their return to the Forza Motorsport franchise after years of absence. In the case of Mugello, it was last featured in Forza Motorsport 4 - a theme amongst the returning tracks. Mugello is a track set in the rolling hills of Tuscany, in between miles of vineyards on all sides. It's setting perfectly encapsulates motorsport as a gentleman's sport. It's also a great track to drive, with challenging undulations and tricky long corners - plus a huge straight that's more than a kilometer long. It truly pushes man and machine to their limits.

Brands Hatch

Historic Brands Hatch. Once home to the British Grand Prix, now host to a plethora of smaller racing series, Brands Hatch has carved it's name into Motorsport history. It's setting is the sleepy village of Farningham, an archetypal English countryside village that sees thousands of vehicles drive past everyday on the M20 motorway. Little do the drivers of those vehicles know that they are missing out on visiting a true temple of speed, where everyone who's anyone in the racing world has proven themselves by taking victory around the challenging track. Take on the challenge for yourself in virtual form, in Forza Motorsport 7, returning to the franchise after having been featured in Forza Motorsport 6.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

When you think of classic F1 tracks, Catalunya always comes to mind. But the truth is, it shouldn't. It was only built in 1991, meaning it is actually a very new track in relative terms. The reason it is so well known is because Formula One hold their pre-season testing at the circuit. This means that each year, our first glimpse of the new year's F1 cars on track and their differing performances takes place here. That fact has cemented it in motor racing history as one of the greatest ever tracks, given its complex mixture of tight and twisty corners, longer sweeping ones and two very long straights. Other races such as the 2009 MotoGP race which is described by some as the best motorcycle race of all time. This will be the track's 5th appearance in the Forza Motorsport franchise, first appearing in Forza Motorsport 3.

Circuit of the Americas

The Lone Star State has most of its Motorsport history within NASCAR. A variety of oval tracks are dotted around Texas, as well as a few drag strips and dirt tracks. What it lacked until 2012 was a world class track racing facility - somewhere Formula One, IMSA, Moto GP and even Australian V8 Supercars could race. Well, that's where the Circuit of the Americas came in. This 3.4mile track is the current home of the United States round of the Formula One World Championship, as well as the 6 Hours of COTA endurance race. In 2013, the Australian V8 Supercar series held the Austin 400 at the track. COTA first appeared in Forza Motorsport 6, with mixed responses from players. The curbs are vicious, and some players see the track as too artificial - a common complaint amongst Hermann Tilke designed tracks.

Hafeet Mountain Pass

The Hafeet Mountain Pass circuit is brand new to the Forza Motorsport franchise. It is a fantasy track - the so called 'showcase' track that is included in each game since Forza Motorsport 4 (Bernese Alps for FM4, Prague for FM5, Rio for FM6). The Hafeet Mountain Pass is a legendary driving road in Dubai. The track is surrounded by sand dunes and mountains, with downtown Dubai, and the Burj Khalifa, seen off in the distance. Since we have not seen the track in previous games it is difficult to judge how enjoyable it will be to drive on, but from the gameplay shown, it looks pretty fun - with plenty of elevation changes and varying corner types.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the home of the legendary Indianapolis 500. The Indy 500 is most prestigious race in the IndyCar season, with recent winners pocketing sums in the region of $2.5million. The Brickyard is classified as a 2.5 mile long 'rounded-off rectangle' oval track. It has 2 long straights, 2 shorter straights and 4 identical 90° banked corners. It is also host to the annual Brickyard 400 NASCAR race, and between 2000 and 2007 the infield variation of the track played host to Formula One. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is also the largest capacity sporting venue in the world, boasting a total of 400,000 seats for spectators.

Le Mans Circuit de La Sarthe

If you were to ask a random person in the street to name one race track, chances are they'd probably say Le Mans. Arguably the most famous track in the world, the Le Mans Circuit de La Sarthe is the host to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The track is comprised of a combination of both public streets and purpose built track, culminating in a challenging  10.7 miles of twists, turns and bumps. Le Mans is also part of the Motorsport 'Triple Crown'. This is the ultimate challenge within Motorsport, and sees drivers take on and win the 24 Hours of Le Mans (World Endurance Championship), Indianapolis 500 (IndyCar) and Monaco Grand Prix (Formula One). Only Graham Hill has ever completed this feat, with Juan Manuel Montoya having won two of the events.

Maple Valley Raceway

Maple Valley Raceway is a fantasy track that first featured in the original Forza Motorsport title. It was then removed for Forza Motorsport 5 when the franchise jumped over to the Xbox One and was also missing in Forza Motorsport 6. Now, the legendary track is back, and will look better than every thanks to the native 4K60fps that will be available on the Xbox One X. The track takes it's setting from somewhere near Maple Valley, just outside Seattle, which is the home city of Turn 10 Studios. In an interview with AR12Gaming, Creative Director of Turn 10 Dan Greenawalt said that Maple Valley was his favourite track from the Forza Motorsport franchise, so it's understandable to see why it is returning for Forza Motorsport 7.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

There's pretty much only one reason why anyone knows of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and that's the infamous 'Corkscrew' corner. This steep downhill chicane is unbelievably challenging, in the real world and within Forza titles. Set along California's Central Coast, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has been the home of a huge variety of Motorsport racing, from GT, to IndyCar, and even different motorbike series. The track has been in Forza Motorsport titles since Forza Motorsport 2, even during the jump to Xbox One. It is also unique in the fact that the wall of the track are extremely close to the tarmac in some areas, meaning it can feel like a street circuit at points.

Nürburgring

The home of motor-racing in Germany - The Nürburgring. This legendary name encompasses the two different tracks that are located in the small town of Nürburg, Germany. These are the Nürburgring GP circuit and the infamous Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The former is a tricky 3.2 mile layout, and home to the German round of the FIA Formula One World Championship, while the later is a 12.9 mile mess of twists and turns, famously nicknamed "The Green Hell" by Sir Jackie Stewart.

While few series now take advantage of the Nordschleife on its own, the combination of the 2 different tracks is used, most notably by the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring endurance race. This full track is a colossal 15.5 miles long, and sees multiple weather systems in different regions of the track. For example, during the 2017 race, the home straight was completely dry while another region was pouring down with rain. This leads to exciting and tense strategy calls that mix the results up hugely. The race also draws in huge grids due to the size of the track, with the 2017 race pulling in over 150 entries. The Nürburgring has featured in every single Forza Motorsport game, right from the first entry in the series on the Original Xbox console.

Prague

Just as the aforementioned Hafeet Mountain Pass will be the showcase track for Forza Motorsport 7, Prague was the showcase track of Forza Motorsport 5. Now, say what you will about that game, there's no denying it was a visually stunning game. The way the light struck particular cars such as the game's cover car, the McLaren P1, was just incredible. Prague was therefore one of the prettiest tracks to have ever been added to the franchise. It's also not half bad to race on, as street circuits go, given how wide it is for many parts of the track. Additionally, drifters also enjoyed using the full extent of the tracks long sweeping corners and elevation changes. Just like all real tracks, Turn 10 laser-scanned Prague into the game by actually visiting the culture rich city of Prague in the Czech Republic. That means that they were able to capture the feeling of driving over a cobblestone, off-camber bridge perfectly, in all it's horrific-for-racing glory.

Rio de Janeiro

Brazil. Not the first country that you think of when you think racing, but one that has some legends in its history - both drivers and tracks. And what's the most famous city of them all in Brazil? Rio de Janeiro. The host city of the 2016 Olympics, it was the perfect location for Turn 10's showcase track for Forza Motorsport 6. The inspiration for the track is clear too, with Olympic logos and adverts placed around the track. Something not many people know is that Forza Motorsport 1 actually featured a Rio track too. However, it was completely different to the Rio track in Forza Motorsport 6. So technically, this is Rio's third appearance in a Forza Motorsport title - although only its second in it's current form.

Sebring International Raceway

1950. That was when Sebring International Raceway was opened. The very same year the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race had it's inaugural running. That race still runs today, and has been incorporated into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship - the premier multi-class series based solely in North America. The track takes its setting from the Hendricks Army Airfield, original owned and used by the United States Air Forces. The historic track has been home to many legendary races, including the very first Formula One race to take place in the United States of America - the only running of such a race at Sebring. Nowadays, Sebring sees most of it's on track action from testing for series such as IndyCar and IMSA as well as by the Skip Barber Racing School. Sebring has featured in every Forza Motorsport title since Forza Motorsport 2, and is a fan favourite for it's tricky twists, unforgiving curbs and violent bumps on the home straight.

Suzuka International Racing Course

The Top Gear Test Track is not the only figure eight track to have featured in a Forza Motorsport game. The Suzuka International Racing Course is also a figure eight, although this legendary Japanese track utilizes a bridge to cross over the track rather than a direct use of the same piece of tarmac as seen on Top Gear's Dunsfold-based track. Suzuka was originally designed as a test track for Honda, and the car giant still own the track today, although they've opened it up for multiple series to race on.

One such series is Formula One, which sees Suzuka play host to the Japanese Grand Prix annually. The Japanese SUPER GT series (JGTC) also runs a round of their championship at Suzuka, as does the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). Suzuka was in many previous Forza Motorsport titles, however it was most famously in Forza Motorsport 4 alongside fellow Japanese tracks Twin Ring Moteigi, Tsukuba, and Fujimi Kaido. Suzuka is the only Japanese track to currently be announced for Forza Motorsport 7, with Fujimi Kaido having been directly confirmed as missing by Bill Giese.

Virginia International Raceway

Three men with a bulldozer first created the initial layout of Virginia International Raceway in 1957. However in 1974, it was closed, only to be reopened in 2000. In that time, VIR was completely refurbished, making it a world-class motor racing facility. There are 6 different layouts, with the Full Course being most commonly used for major competitions. The biggest event to be held there is the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, where the GTLM and GTD class cars race. VIR was added to Forza Motorsport 6 alongside the Porsche Expansion, with all 3 weather configurations available. This was VIR's first appearance in a Forza Motorsport title.

Watkins Glen International

Upstate New York is the location of "The Glen" - the long time home of Formula One in the United States of America. Watkins Glen hosted the US round of the Formula One World Championship between 1961 and 1980, the longest serving host of the US race to date. Nowadays, Watkins Glen sees all-manner of different series compete on it's famous tarmac. NASCAR, IndyCar and IMSA all have a round of their championship at Watkins Glen, with IMSA's being the legendary Six Hours of The Glen endurance race. Just like many tracks which have long histories, Watkins Glen sees its origins as public roads being shut off for racing. In the years since then, it has been converted into a world class racing facility. Forza Motorsport 7 will be Watkins Glen's second appearance in a Forza Motorsport title, having also been in Forza Motorsport 6.

Forza Motorsport 7 can be pre-ordered from the Xbox Store, with some of the pre-order special editions and bonuses having been revealed. It will be launched worldwide on October 3rd, nearly a month before Microsoft's upgraded Xbox One console, the Xbox One X is launched.

Såpass...alt på max i 1080p ga stort sett hele tiden 60 fps hos meg. Og det på en gammel råtten CPU med lite RAM. Men slik er det jo med PC. Funker som gull for en og helt på tryne for en annen om du er uheldig.

Fungerte fint på mitt HD7970 kort fra 2011, dog litt framedrops og grafikken passelig lavt (Kjører 4k oppløsning vell å merke)

Utrolig irriterende at det ikke støtter crossfire, for da ville mine to 7970 fint dra dette med mye høyere grafikk og jeg ville kansje sluppet å kjøpe den nye xboxen for å nyte dette.

Det er vel bare å kjøre et typisk poengsystem som man finner i racing og en del bilspill. Men tenkte det kunne være kjekt å se hva erfarne folk hadde gjort mtp regler og lignende. Om det var noe de hadde erfart som kunne være greit å ha med.

 

Når det er sagt, så går jeg inn i ny jobb nå i November med vaktordninger og dertilhørende ustabilitet når det kommer til tilgjengelighet, men om folk er hjelpsomme så skal jeg ikke ha noe problemer å styre en cup her på D.no
