«16 year olds are far too immature to be allowed to vote».

Do you agree with this statement? Write a persuasive essay where you argue either for or against this statement. Use relevant information from the three attachments below. These three texts were also handed out to you in class earlier this week. 

 

Jeg lurer på om jeg har svart på oppgaven, sjangeren og om den var bra eller dårlig..         

 

 

“16 year olds are far too immature to be allowed to vote”

 

If you are reading this text, you`re either a displaced college professor, a wacky mother, or a judicious old freak, who are hiding your thoughts about everything and everyone in your determined mind, and sitting in the hellish window warily observing each move of the young taboo girl walking towards to the French pastry shop. I`m here to tell you: there`s no such thing as 16 years old kids.

 

It`s very ludicrous that the same voracious people, who have ruin this world with what they call “politics”, have the opinion that 16 year olds are far too immature to be allowed to vote. There`s erratic amounts of people who have the right to choose politicians for the run of the country, included criminals. Not the youths. When did people became mature at their 18^th birthday? Is there any kind of unexplainable transition there you suddenly are mature enough to take part in politics? Of course it doesn`t.

 

When the youths are mature enough to rob a bank like the real criminals, when the youths are mature enough to paint graffiti’s on the high buildings at the city square, when the youths are mature enough to have pleasant activities in the bed full of red soft roses, and when the youths are mature enough to take a suicide, then they are mature enough to be able to vote, if you ask me.

 

Maybe we should also say that people over 50 years old, aren`t mature either. They are old, abhorrent in everything they do, even too brainless to solve some puzzles, they pollute the air with the awful stink that they have been carrying each day since they became old, they are an total chemical disaster ready to spread all over the world, and they are still “mature” enough to pollute the world even more with their extraordinary way of

thinking.

 

The country is for all of us. Politics is about to run the country efficient and making great circumstances for us who are living here. Why should just the people over 18 years, get the big opportunity to show that they are mature? Even though not all people over 18 years are “mature”. Some of them never get that far at all. However, they can vote, because they`re over 18 years old.

 

Youths are able to do many different things. Now for days, a 16 years old youth can pretty easy travel alone from the one side of the earth to another. He can also take part in “mars one” mission, and settle on the surface of Mars.

 

In this time of life, many youths are finished with the primary school, and they take the next step forward choosing their direction of the life. Which school will I study in, which town? Will I live with my parents, or will I rent an apartment? That`s many different choices, and if they can do them, they are mature enough to vote. Youths have also a unique perspective to see and do things, and often better solutions than the full-grown adults do.

 

There`s one thing I don`t understand. The same people who were youths in younger days, has after all these years changed their minds and have begun associating the youths as kids. They`re wrong.

 

This is a cycle. The “adults” hate on the young bustards, who are so extremely stupid and immature. They control their opinions in the politics with voting, but when they are getting older, they become an awful stinky chemical disaster. Then, have the earlier youths grown up, and now it`s them who hate on youths. This just goes in a cycle whole time. It never stops. For you who still thinks that 16 year olds are far too immature to be allowed to vote, just ask yourself, how “mature” am I?

 

For you 16 years old youths out there: stand up and cast your ballot, we are no kids!
