Årsaken er nok at lav lønn bare kan forsvares i et lavkostland, samt at lønnen er timebasert og ikke akkordbasert.

Dette er likevel veldig lite lønn, selv i Thailand. Kjenner en bor i Hong Kong, og tjener mer enn dette på deltid. Og han jobber ikke ofte heller. Han nenvte blant annet at det er vanskelig å leve på denne lønnen.

 

Om dette er høy eller lav lønn vet jeg ikke, men å sammenligne Hong Kong med Thailand blir for dumt. Prisnivået i Hong Kong er mye lavere i Thailand enn i Hong Kong. Hong Kong er en internasjonal metropol og kjent som en av verdens dyreste byer (ifølge The Economist verdens nest dyreste by å bo i, http://www.economist.com/blogs/graphicdetail/2016/03/daily-chart-4).

 

You are more than correct! Thailand is a very cheap country to live in compared to Hong Kong. 30,000 is more than plenty to get on by and even for saving up a bit of money. 1000 Baht/a day can get you a very long way. Renting a scooter/motorbike is 2000 baht a month - which covers all of your transportation. Remember that the accommodation is paid for as well.

Well he is correct. But I was mistaken, I wrote Hong Kong, while I actually meant Bangkok. 

 

I heard with a friend, and he has part time job there, working 2-3 days a week and earn morn than 30 000 baht a month. He told me that this is close to the minimum wage in Thailand, and u can barely make a living out of it.

30,000 baht is more than plenty as other people have pointed out as well. Sure, you could compare your friends wage with the one we are offering, but it is not the same job so it does not really make sense. Apples and oranges. And Bangkok is for sure a more expensive city to live in. Hua hin is not. As others have pointed out, you could go out and eat all three meals every day, get a few beers and still have half of the money left at the end of the day.

I bet you'll find somebody who's willing to do this. I mean, lots of people wanna go places just to get new impressions and ideas, not necessarily to get lots of savings.
