De har tatt en databutikken (selv om den saken ordnet seg).

Men dette kan jo ikke være en god sak for komplett, de er jo ganske nye over there. Dette kan bli bra dyrt for komplett, enten som utlegg eller som svært dårlig reklame (er vel dårlig reklame uansett hvordan saken ender).

Dersom Komplett hadde vært fornuftige ville de fikset feilen ASAP (Endret prisen på web-sidene, og skrevet et stort "skilt" om at det har skjedd en feil) , og solgt kortene med tap til de som rakk å bestille til den prisen. Komplett tjener sinnsykt mye, og om de må legge ut 100 (som rakk å bestille) * 1500 (som er omtrentlig tap pr enhet) så beløper det seg til 150.000, noe som er en veldig billig reklamekampanje, og noe som de har tjent inn igjen ganske fort.

 

Og det dummeste de gjorde var jo å sende e-post til de som hadde benyttet seg av "tilbudet" hvor hver enkelt omtrent blir kalt for kriminell! :D

 

(Og, ja, jeg er i utgangspunktet 100% enig med komplett. De som benyttet seg av "tilbudet" er i praksis kriminelle som skor seg på andres uhell. Men det unnskylder ikke Komplett's oppførsel, dessverre. :( Med tanke på fremtidig eksistens på den øya burde de nok tenkt seg om en og to ganger før de sendte ut den e-posten.)

Det har de gjort, for dette har skjedd før med Komplett. Da sendte de denne mailen:

 

Dear Customer,

 

Many thanks for your reply.

 

We would like to clarify some points at this stage to avoid any unnecessary conflicts or displeasure for our valued customers.

 

On the evening of 19/03/02 and through the night, hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of orders were placed on the product number 104396 due to a pricing error which set it at £13.00 Some of these orders reached the shipment stage before the error was spotted. These 20 orders were shipped due to the fact that the credit card was charged for the invoice amount before 20:03 GMT on 19th March 2002.

 

All orders after this were stopped and no further credit card payments were requested.

 

However, some customers' credit cards will have been subject to a money 'reservation' order. This is standard practice in online payment authorisation but DOES NOT constitute a withdrawal of funds.

 

Consequently, these customers were contacted at the first possible opportunity and made aware of our mistake. An offer of one module of RAM to each customer for £49 was made.

 

We would like to stress that, as the price of the module was so ridiculously low that it was clear that the price was incorrect (due to human error). Therefore, we are under no legal obligation to ship any module at any price lower than as is currently set.

 

We value our customers very much and as a sign of respect for the people who have been shopping with us for a long time, we made the offer of £49. The majority of our customers have accepted this gratefully and the modules are on their way to those customers now.

 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank those customers who refrained from ordering the item as they realised it must be a mistake on

our part .

 

We would like to reiterate our offer to you and hope that you will be kind enough to take us up on it.

 

It is our company policy and aim to offer products at the cheapest price by avoiding middle men. However, offering products at 19th their price is the quickest way to bankruptcy.

 

We hope you understand this and allow us to continue providing you with overnight delivery, low prices and high quality computer components for

years to come.

This email is in reference to your recent order with Komplett for a 512Mb

RAM module, priced at £13.00

 

This item was subject to a gross human error that resulted in the price

offered being set at £82.00 LESS than its cost to us.

 

The person responsible has been hung, drawn and well and truly quartered. His parking space has been given over to the lunch lady and pension distributed among our warehouse staff.

 

All that remains is to resolve the problem with you, our much valued and trusted customers.

 

As you can imagine, very many orders were received overnight for this RAM at a potential loss to Komplett of £305 000 if all ordered modules are to be shipped. A figure that could potentially spell the liquidation of the company in its UK form.

 

We are extremely aware of the recent, well publicised errors by Kodak and Dabs which resulted in both companies shipping all items ordered for the price offered.

 

We would love nothing more than to be able to do the same as these companies, but, as previously mentioned, this would be economic suicide. However, we would like to offer you one of the memory modules at the very discounted price of £49.00. This is still a huge loss to us, but one that can be recouped from the next 10 years' Christmas bonuses of the particular human implied in the phrase 'human error'.

 

Your current order for the memory will be deleted to keep things simple.

 

If you would like to take advantage of this offer please log onto your account and visit sku number 104396 and order 1 module of the memory at the special price, plus any other item you require. This offer will only be open until 31/03/02. To be fair to all customers involved in this we can only allow one module to each customer at this price.

 

We would like to offer our sincerest apologies at this stage and hope this has no detrimental effect to the great relationship we have built up to this point with yourself.

:evil: Synd at komplett gav seg.

 

Er så utrolig fjernt å bestille en ting du vet er oppgitt feil pris på, å se kreve å få den til den prisen. Det er liksom noe som kun skjer med webshops. Hadde aldri skjedd i en butikk. Hvis en CPU stod priset til 10kr i en butikk, og mannen i kassen sier at det selvsagt var en feil, så ville ikke du sagt: "Jamen det er ikke mitt problem. Jeg skal ha den for 10 kr allikevel."

Jeg synes artikkelen i Inquirer er for streng. Det sier jo seg selv at det måtte være feil. Det som har skjedd er derimot at folk har bestillt, hver, dusinvis av kort, for å forsøke å dra nytte av situasjonen. Sånt som dette skjer faktisk ganske ofte. Det er ikke noe å bli sur for og komplett har ingen rettsmessig plikt til å gjennomføre kjøpet. At de tilbyr rimelige RAM moduler synes jeg var ganske sjenerøst. Jeg synes engelskmennene skal ta seg en scotch og kule'n før de driter seg helt ut i datamiljøet :lol:
