Web Search evaluators work 4 hours a day (Monday through Friday) and have the flexibility to choose the hours they wish to work each day. Evaluators commit to 20-22 hours per week. Before a project assignment, evaluators complete a qualification process of 25-40 hours over a 1-3 week period. Once accepted on a project, evaluators meet consistent service levels that measure accuracy of their work.

 

Requirements:

 

· Passionate and avid interest in working with the Internet.

· Experience with Web browsers to navigate and evaluate a variety of content.

· Broad interest and current knowledge of social culture, media, sports, news, business, celebrities and the Web.

· Flexibility to learn from changing standards and tasks.

· Detail-oriented and strives for continuous high performance and accuracy.

· Ability to work independently and possess good time-management skills.

· Be fluent in written and verbal English.

· Excellent research and decision capability: ability to see both the possible intent of a user who visits a Web page and compare it to another Web page to determine the best relevance.

· Excellent troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving skills.

· Degree is preferred, but experience and ability are essential.

Technology Requirements:

· Personal PC or laptop that runs Windows Vista or Windows 7 (please note: netbook devices, Windows XP and Apple O/S, including Apple O/S running on virtual environments, are not compatible with project), and a minimum screen resolution of 1280 X 768; desired resolution is 1280 X 1024.

· A high-speed Internet connection (preferably unlimited usage; if limited, download cap must not be less than 100 GB per month).

· Basic aptitude for solving technical/software issues independently.

Description of the Work

 

The Multimedia program consists of various tasks focusing on evaluating and improving both the relevancy and accuracy of our client’s search engine results specific to Query labeling , Query intent labeling, Image Relevance, Image Quality, Page Relevance, and Video Relevance. The project is split into two core rosters, one for image (photo) experts and one for video experts.

 

Each roster is required to work on multiple tasks for their medium – image query intent, image query labeling and image relevance (same tasks for video). We also have an adult query task where judges are required to label queries with intent for adult content.

 

Tools needed

· A Windows-based computer running Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. (The Windows XP operating system will not work with our system. Mac computers, even those with Windows platforms, are not compatible with our system.)

· A consistent broadband internet connection. Wired connections tend to work better than wireless.

· Headset with a working microphone for participation in Qualification

· Robust antivirus software

· Current Excel software. Intermediate user of Excel

 

Training Details

· Training will require a commitment of approximately 15 hours.

· Candidates will be required to thoroughly read and understand task guidelines, complete several online, self-study modules and complete one qualification test in order to work on the project.

· Those candidates passing training will be paid a stipend for their time spent training.

 

Required skills – project specific

· Must be detail oriented and able to easily switch between subjective and literal tasks.

· Flexibility, willingness to learn and work on multiple tasks, good communication skills.

 

Special Requirements (core hours, unique skills, technical/equipment requirements)

· Candidates with relevant librarian, organizational, or classification skills. Candidates with strong image or video background, experience working with the internet technology or multimedia web design tend to do well.

· Must be detail oriented and able to easily switch between subjective and literal tasks.

· Must be fluent on the Native Language

· Must be a resident of the country specified on the Project Details
