Takk Jin :)

There are 12 animals for a cycle of 12 years.

Check the picture below, the year after the year of dragon is the year of snake.

Tell me your birthday, then I can tell you which year you belong to :green:

HATER Spring festival! Alle varene mine blir forsinket!!

Don't say that... :nei2:

Sorry for the trouble of your plan.

But this is the most important festival for all Chinese people, just like the Christmas in European countries.

People in China will go back to home and spend this period with family. :xmas:

ennn, I am already in Norge now :wee:

So I didn't have time learning norsk recently, busy with the issues going here :wee:

I will restart the learning of norsk after I settle down and get used to the timezone.

Actually I just came back from the chinese new year concert, quite interesting experience to have the spring festival somewhere outside China :wee:

But really missing family at China still :hm:

Yes, 1980 is the year of Monkey,

But it's from 1980/2/16 --1981/2/4

if you were born before 1980/2/16, then is was the year of sheep :green:

Which one do you like better? Monkey or Sheep?

People say that those who was born in the year of monkey is naughty and those who was born in the year of sheep is very nice :wee:

Check more information about Chinese new year from Wiki :wee:

And some about the animals....

It's true that people from certain years will hesitate to be together.

For example, people from the year of dog, and the year of rooster,

for there is an old chinese saying that dog and rooster will always make a mess

I don't give a shit about Christmas! I'm not christian and the only reason I'm even traveling home is because I wan't free good food, I would do that regardless of the time of the year.

Where are you from anyway?

And we don't take a 2 week break from everything when it's Christmas!

I am from China, I think that is quite obvious :wee:

In China, people spend the whole year hard working, and for lots of people, this is the only vacation they can have in a whole year. Around half of the people will travel back to home town,

I just read the news, that around 8 million people have left Beijing.

Spring Festival means a lot to Chinese people, it's a time for family being together, and good food of course. :wee:

That's true.

I think for first lots of people only have this vacation to go back home.

Second, for many people, it's very hard to get the ticket for flight or train for only the one week public holiday, you need to take some extra leaves, to make sure you can get the tickets.

Why don't just the government force the companies to give their employees 2 week vacation a year in total and they can choose them self when to use it?

It works when there is 1 million, 10 million, 100 million people, but for more than 1400million people, the government's rules don't work always.

Anyway, wish everyone a happy new year :xmas:

one song from the show of this year, Jasmine Flower.

Enjoy it :)
