Ubuntu på Radeon HD 6470m BlackScreen

Hei!

 

Har prøvd flere ganger å installere Ubuntu og Kubuntu (prøvd begge to), men ingen fungerer.

 

Problemet er at etter jeg har startet setupen, så bare skrur skjermen seg av. Har prøvd å koble til ekstern skjerm, men det skjer ingenting der heller. Grunnen er at Ubuntu ikke har drivere eller støtter AMD kortet mitt. Jeg har 2 kort, ett intergrert, og ett dedikert i HP Pavilion g6-1216so'en min. Jeg tror det intergrerte er det som blir aktivert når jeg starter opp Ubuntu. Det intergrerte er AMD Radeon HD 6480G, og det dedikertet er AMD Radeon HD 6470m

 

Har prøvd Safe Graphic Mode på oppstarten, men funker ikke det heller.

 

Noen som vet hvordan man fikser problemet?

Nei, er ingen instilling i BIOS.. Vet ikke hvorfor det ikke er det, men hadde vært nyttig.

Har fått HP QuickWeb til å starte, var bare en nettleser-knapp på tastaturet som startet det opp når PC'en var avslått (hadde en annen thread om det uten svar), og det kjører i Linux, så det skal være en Linux driver til en av ATi skjermkorta som skal funke, problemet blir bare hvordan få den inn i setupen..

Normalt er det ingen problemer med ATI, og laptopen din gir få hits. Har du en mer nøyaktig typebetegnelse, så kan en google runde være greit. Enkelte laptoper har bios feil som trenger work-around, og det kan være tricky å finne ut av selv. Ellers er det en ide å forsøke med siste skrik ubuntu, 12.04 som nå er ute i alfa. Da får du en nyere kjerne som inneholder nyere drivere. Det kan også være en ide å teste med siste LTS av ubuntu, 10.04, ingen ubuntu versjon har fått flere feilrettinger.

 

Ellers er du litt sparsommelig med informasjon. Har du koblinger til begge skjermkort? Isåfall kan du enkelt sjekke hvilket som brukes. Et annet alternativ er å installere "alternate" CD med ubuntu, der får du tekstbasert installering slik at du kan få installert og lagt inn AMD sin egen ATI driver. Har du forsøkt å installere fra CD eller USB eller begge? Har du sjekket at CD ikke har feil?

Begge skjermkortene er vel koblet til laptop-skjermen og begge utgangene (VGA og HDMI), og det eneste som kan styre de (som jeg vet til nå) er AMD/ATi Skjermdriveren. Ellers er det intergrerte det som står på hele tiden. Har brukt både CD, USB og WUBI (install fra Windows), og alle fungerer på den stasjonære HP PC'en min, men ikke laptopen. Kan prøve alternate install..

Fant igjen en gammel Ubuntu 9.10 CD, og utrolig nok, den fungerte! Fikk boota Ubuntu, og skulle installere, men partisjonsprogrammet ville enten slette hele harddisken (noe som jeg ikke vil), og manuell partisjonering, noe som jeg synes var veldig vanskelig og ville ikke ødelegge noen partisjoner.

 

Starter CD'en i Windows og installerer med WUBI, så da kan jeg dualboote, for jeg vil ikke miste Windows 7. Sier ifra hvis det går fungerer som det skal

Installen i Windows gikk ikke bra, fikk en feilmelding på slutten av installen..

Wubi er hit-or-miss, for mange funker det fint, for andre funker det ikke. Sett av litt plass på disken og bruk vanlig install. Dersom 11.10 er trøblete å installere kan du prøve 10.04 eller 12.04 alt ettersom hvor bleeding du har lyst til å være.

Fant ut en løsning som kunne funke: Partisjonere i Windows, restarte, installere Ubuntu på partisjonen og dualboote.. Første problemet er at diskene ble dynamiske av seg selv.. Alle sammen, til og med recovery partisjonen. Jeg fikk starta Windows, men ikke HP recovery. Fant en løsning som skulle fungere på nettet av Microsoft, og den skulle gjøre partisjonene til basic disks igjen. Windows boota, men så BSOD i 1/10 av et sekund. Det så ut til å ikke være noen form for stopp error.. Får ikke boota recovery formatteringen, og Windows starter ikke. Litt dumt kan du si.

 

Får jo boota Ubuntu installen, men burde jeg formattere hele harddisken og installere Ubuntu? Eller er den en ikke så komplisert måte å fikse det på? PC'en er bare 2,5 måneder gammel, og jeg har allerede greid å rote til alt.. Er ikke jeg flink? Burde hatt en stor applause

Hvorfor vil du starte HP recovery? Kan ikke si jeg helt skjønner hva som har skjedd hos deg, men ubuntu sin boot loader skal ikke ha noen problemer med å boote windows så lenge windowspartisjonen ikke er tullet med. Men det kan høres ut som du har brukt et verktøy fra microsoft for å endre partisjonen, det verktøyet kan jeg ingenting om. Du kan naturligvis la boot loaderen til linux (som heter grub) søke etter og sette opp boot fra windows igjen, men ikke sikkert det hjelper hvis du har ødelagt windowspartisjonen.

Hvorfor jeg ville starte det ver jeg ikke, var bare en tanke om at jeg kunne formattere PC'n tilbake til standard så diskene ble basic igjen. Jeg brukte Microsoft sin partisjoneringsprogram og jeg har aldri hatt problemer med det før nå. Jeg tror det er Windows partisjonen det er noe feil meg, for jeg endret noen numre som Microsoft sin side sa fra 42 til 07 på lista. På ubuntu så står ntfs som 0x07, kan det ha noen sammenheng? Det må være en måte å få endret det nummeret (se instruksjonen på linken) til 42 igjen og få startet Windows ihvertfall.

Den er fortsatt bootbar, men jeg får en BSOD etter 5-6 sekunder. Pfft.. Er ikke så viktig med Windows.. Blir bare litt vanskelig å gå rett til bare Ubuntu. Bruker bare PC'en til nett, msn, e-post, film, youtube og skole. Tror jeg formatterer hele harddisken, det er nok den beste løsningen, og hvis jeg vil ha Windows tilbake, så har jeg en XP CD som jeg må bare kopiere, legge inn SATA drivere, og brenne. Har en stasjonær med XP, så det går nok greit

Ah, få ting føles bedre enn å velge "Bruk hele disken" når du installerer ubuntu

Hvis jeg bare hadde hatt en Windows 7 disk så, er desverre ikke XP på den. Uansett, blir nok full formattering til Ubuntu
