What is PMR (Perfect Motion Rate)? The challenge of all LCD/LED TVs is to manage a great picture quality even during fast motion to avoid image Blurring, Judder and other motion artefacts. Within the specifications list, most people focus only on the refresh rate, quoted in Hertz, or rather the number of times the screen is refreshed per second. Other specifications however, influence the picture quality during motion, such as the response time and the processing power of the TV. The response time is the number of Milliseconds each pixel takes to go from Grey around all the colour scheme and back to Grey, while the processing power, is the effectiveness of the software within the TV to manage fast motion such as Perfect Natural Motion. When combining these three elements, the PMR rating is concluded.

PMR er altså philips sin måte å beregne hertz, siden de mener at flere faktorer burde være med i beregningen.

400Hz PMR er altså ikke det samme som 400Hz. Skjermen kan godt ha mye lavere frekvens enn det.
