"I recently purchased an Airport Extreme Base Station and card for my Powerbook. This is working absolutely fine. I've also got a Windows XP laptop with a Cisco Aironet 350 wireless card. When I run the Airport Admin Utility on my PC I cannot see the Base Station. I've tried choosing "Others" and entering 10.0.1.1 as the IP address of the Base Station, but I always get the following error: "An error occurred while trying to access the base station. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again.". Is anyone able to help? " Svare ble her: "What you do need to do is use the Client Manager software that would have been installed when you installed the WLAN card to identify the AEBS wireless network, then connect to it. Some of the important settings include the following: Use Infrastructure mode and not Ad Hoc mode. If your AEBS network is encrypted, then you will need to use the hexadecimal equivalent network password displayed under the AAU Padlock icon to set up encryption in your wireless network configuration on the laptop. Designate the proper WEP level (40/64-bit or 128-bit) and that you are entering a hexadecimal encryption key (10 or 26 characters) " Håper det hjalp... Lenke til kommentar
