Vincent1400 Skrevet 27. juli 2011 Del Skrevet 27. juli 2011 Hello, My name is Vincent, i live in France. I help to develop Movim, an internationnal social network, it haven't the goal to be a concurrent against Facebook but to purpose a free and decentralized alternative, in respect to Free Software philosophy. I invite you to discover our project : http://movim.eu/ (it's still in development). How to contribute ? We need translators : we wish Movim.eu to be understandable in as many languages as possible, and even in some dialects for each country ! So we think to purpose Movim in your language (or in the dialect of your choice) could permit to enlarge the diffusion of this new Social Network. Are you motivated ? Good ! If you have the courage to translate everything it would be perfect, but i'll be happy if you try to translate some pieces of text. A lot of line do not contain more than 2 words, don't be scared ! Movim-Platform includes the following technology: Jaxl: A powerful XMPP library for PHP that brings support for many XEPs. Account creation from an existing account. Connecting to an account and ensuring the connection is kept alive through AJAX. Javascript-free fetching and processing of data on the server-side. Automatic javascript generation when needed. Nator Skrevet 27. juli 2011 Del Skrevet 27. juli 2011 (endret) You should make your language files available as gettext catalogs format (.pot), editable in POEdit (generating .po and .mo files for the different languages). Also, it would be a good idea to create a page to list the names of volunteer translators for the different languages. I am sure a lot of people would be glad to help this project with translations. Omnithunder Skrevet 28. juli 2011 Del Skrevet 28. juli 2011 (endret) Jeg har registrert meg på http://codingteam.net og prosjekt Movim og laget en "Quick and Dirty" oversettelse der. Jeg oppfordrer andre brukere her til å gjøre det samme for å korrigere min oversettelse, og ikke minst for å lage en Nynorsk og Samisk oversettelse. Jobben tok mindre enn to timer.
Vincent1400 Skrevet 28. juli 2011 Forfatter Del Skrevet 28. juli 2011 Thank to both of you ! Nordmoen , as said Omnithunder, i invite you to check http://codingteam.net/project/movim_website/i18n/lang/no and to complete or edit these translations Nator : Absolutly. In the past, we used .po files, but sometimes we need to add some strings that will be used later. A file need to be uploaded, so we prefer to use the CodingTeam Website. It then generates the .po file. Omnithunder, i never check my MP sorry. I'm responding Don't worry, we will add all languages you ask. About the translations, I often add myself the languages translated by volunteers on the forums, simply because few people take the time to register on CodingTeam. It is much more rewarding to make these changes yourself, as this will involve you in the project. Movim is developped by two main characters : Edhelas and Etenil. You could meet them (and me ^^) on this Chan : http://www.jappix.com/[email protected] Lenke til kommentar
Vincent1400 Skrevet 28. juli 2011 Forfatter Del Skrevet 28. juli 2011 So.... heee CodingTeam does not support different Norwegian dialects. We contact them right now to add these languages (the tool is open source). I will post here as soon as possible. Sorry. Lenke til kommentar
Vincent1400 Skrevet 1. august 2011 Forfatter Del Skrevet 1. august 2011 Omnithunder Now, as you can see there are four Norwegian languages in the list : - norwegian - norwegian nynorsk - norwegian bokmal - norwegian samer We chose to delete norwegian (to avoid confusion), so we would be happy that you put your translations into one of two languages (nynorsk or bokmal). "Samisk", known in english as "Samer", was attached to Norway because we believe that you will be able to translate the dialect of the Norwegian coast. I read on Wikipedia that Samer was also a consistent language in Sweden, so I offered to put nothing for them today. If someone proposes to translate the Swedish side, we will add an entry in the list for them. I'm sorry if I did not understand everything, I do my best to achieve compliance in relation to your private message Lenke til kommentar
Error Skrevet 1. august 2011 Del Skrevet 1. august 2011 There are like 20 000 people worldwide who speak "samisk", so personally I wouldn't bother translating it. Nynorsk and Bokmål covers Norway well enough as all "samer" knows either one, or both. Lenke til kommentar
Vincent1400 Skrevet 3. august 2011 Forfatter Del Skrevet 3. august 2011 First, "Lappish" is a living language like many cultural languages, is less and less used because it is not the official language of the country. This language is still used by your parents, grandparents, etc.. In France, we woke up some major regional languages which were lost against the french. The goal ? Keep the understanding of our cultural roots, traditions and above all maintain that an exchange between generations, not to permanently lose these languages. I know it is difficult to adapt certain terms like "website" that did not exist before. But it's a matter of belief and motivation. I let this choice to someone who wish to grow the Lappish by translating it Lenke til kommentar
