Betalingsanmerkninger

I must first apologize as my Norwegian (especially writing) is terrible! I do however, understand most written Norwegian, so please feel free to reply in Norwegian, and Google translate will work out any I can't

 

I would very much appreciate advice on my situation which I feel I should explain briefly.

 

When I was relatively new to living in Norway, I got myself into a situation with someone who ended up leaving me in a bad situation. I ended up pulling out of a contract for an apartment I had signed as something had occured which meant I could no longer take the apartment. I spoke to the land lord and tried to negotiate something, but he was very hard to deal with and the last I heard from him was he was going to "do things his way".

 

I was away for a while, but on my return I had received several letters which I did not understand from the forliksrådet, I contacted them by both telephone and writing, eventually receiving a response in English saying I had a case against me that was lost as I did not turn up to it, and now money would be deducted monthly directly from my salsry. I was a little angry about this as it was a large amount (18000 nok) and I had no idea really what had happened, but I thought it's not the end of the world and tried to forget about it.

 

I later had tried to apply for something which required a credit check, only to find out I had a betalingsmerker and would not get credit anywhere it seemed, the credit search showed I had money drawn from my salary, how much and for how long. Obviously this was a problem, but I have contacted the person in charge of payment at work and she has since paid off all of the debt in one payment from my salary.

 

My question after all of this is really, will my betalingsmerker be deleted now I have paid off all the debt? The reason I paid it off was to hopefuly get rid of it!

 

Any advice is greatly appreciated, and once again, sorry for my none Norsk!

I`m not quite sure if I`m right, but I think the betalingsanmerkning will be deleted almost immediately. Has it been long, or did you just pay it off like a couple of days ago?

It was paid off last Thursday so yes only 2 days ago.. I don't fully understand the system myself but some seem to say they last for 4 years and others say they are deleted immediately! I am rather impatient as I have been waiting to buy a car for a long time and this has been holding me back! Annoying as I've always made sure I've paid everything on time in Norway as I know how strict the system is here!

I just contacted DnB Nor, just out of curiosity. The lady I talked to confirmed that the anmerkning will be deleted immediately. Hopefully it wasnt her first day

Wow, what service! Well thanks, I could have thought to call them myself really as they are my bank, I tried trawling the internet instead!

 

Well thanks for the answer, I guess I shall see on Monday if I am now eligible for credit I just hope the 25 øre that was not paid for some reason on the kreditortrekk will not effect me
