Video capture

I capture video through the USB port. However, the captured mpeg file is somewhat "jerky" and the movie is not smooth as when I view it in the movie camera (Sony TRV19).

 

I there any solution to this? Is the result better if I use firewire instead of USB transfer? Is there any other solution?

 

(The problem is not the speed of my computer, it's a 3 ghz processor.)

The result is a whole lot better if you use the firewire port. Then you capture in Native DV and the quality of the material is the same as in the camera.
