moft Skrevet 1. februar 2002 Del Skrevet 1. februar 2002 har skrevet dette for annet forum , derfor er det på det riktige språket. -------------------------------------- this is the results of an very carefully comparsion of the Nvidia 23.12 vs 27.20 drivers.. Dual P3 1069Mhz , Win2k, Geforce3 (I don't want to bother you with more hardware bragging , that's why it's short) Each driver got all settings set to default , then set AGP to 4x , highest mipmap detail and 85Hz Refresh. I verified that all driver's default settings are equal... What I did : Drivers 23.11 , gave me an average of 6384 3Dmark's on 3 runs. Quality test pictures were saved for compare... Drivers 27.20 , gave me an average of 6097 3Dmark's on 3 runs. Quality test pictures were saved for compare... Drivers 23.12 , gave me an average of 6380 3Dmark's on 3 runs. Quality test pictures were saved for compare... now , the speed "difference" between 23.11 and 23.12 is just random. however , the highest 27.20 score never reach up to the lowest benchmark of 23.1x the most important stuff , is WORSE PICTURE QUAILITY ! After comparing pictures of game 1 and game 2 it's easy to see that some SHADOWS are MISING ! (game 3 and 4 have no difference at all) In game 1 the truck that casts a shadow on the bumpy road with 23.1x drivers , does NOT cast ANY shadow with 27.20. In game 2 a distant runner is shadow-less with 27.20 . , yet shadows are fine with 23.1x drivers. CONCLUSION: 27.20 cripples your shadowing ,and gain fewer 3dmark points , than the faster 23.12 drivers that shadows perfectly. There is NO other differences between 23.1x and 27.20 screenshots.
