Hei, har Engelsk tentamen i dette øyeblikket og sliter med en oppgave.

Håper det er noen morgenfugler som er våkne som er villig til å hjelpe.

Det hadde jeg satt stor pris på!

 

Oppgaven følger....

 

Choose the best alternative to explain the sentences gramatically and write your answers in the right order on your answer sheet, (e.g. 16:p). Do not write the sentences.

Sentences

1) He likes apples.

2) How far is it to London?

3) There are many citizens in New York.

4) I am doing my homework right now.

5) Do you speak Norwegian?

6) I am going to Los Angeles tomorrow.

7) It snowed yesterday.

8) It was snowing, do i had to walk.

9) Everything is fine

10) Few are eager

11) He bought an apple

12) The boy who came yesterday is nice.

13) She wore a dress which was quite expensive.

14) She saw a dog

15) Each of the houses was red

 

 

Explanations

a) We use a in front of a consonant sound

b) We use the relative pronoun which when we talk about things

c) We use it when we talk about distance

d) there is followed by a noun which is the real subject of the sentence

e) We use present continuous when we talk about what is already arranged in the near future

f) If the subject is singular, the verb also has to be singular

g) If we ask a general question we use simple present

h) If we ask a specific question we use present continuous

i) We use the relative pronoun who when we talk about people

j) We use an in front of a vowel sound

k) If we state an action or situation in the past that is finished we use simple past

l) The pronoun everything counts as singular and is followed by a singular verb

m) If we explain a background situation or action which is interrupted by a shorter action in the middle we use past continuous

n) The determiner few counts as plural and is followed by a plural verb

o) The determiner each counts as singular and is followed by a singular verb
