InsertNumLock Skrevet 1. november 2010 Del Skrevet 1. november 2010 Redknaps egne meninger om kampen: Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has admitted Nani's goal at Old Trafford probably had no bearing on Saturday's result. The Manchester United winger took advantage of a misunderstanding between Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and referee Mark Clattenburg, and tapped the ball into the net after the Brazilian stopper had rolled the ball from his hands, believing a free-kick was awarded. The Manchester United winger did handle the ball but Clattenburg failed to blow his whistle, therefore the game continued and the ball was still in open play when the Portuguese poked home. Redknapp still fells the goal should have been disallowed but insists it was unlikely his side would have got an equaliser in the final six minutes. "There was no whistle but everyone saw him handle it," Redknapp told reporters. "We were losing 1-0 so I'm not looking for excuses. I'm just talking about one incident. "We were losing and chances are we were going to lose anyway - but we might have scored, you never know, we just didn't get the opportunity to find out. “ Redknapp refused to openly criticise Clattenburg after the incident, instead he switched his attentions to his own team. "I don't go around blaming referees. If we get beaten I blame myself and the players, I don't blame refs,” he added. "I won't say we were beaten because of that, because it's long odds we'd have got beaten 1-0. "But we were still in the game because it was evenly balanced throughout." Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand used his Twitter account to declare the right decision was made: "I went over to the referee just to clarify that he never blew his whistle," said Ferdinand. "Linesman was saying it was handball, ref never gave it. Play on. Anyway, the decisions all level out over the season." Lenke til kommentar
