Donald Trump for President (Kina vs Usa)

Men for å kunne balansere budsjettet.

Americans respect those that get results and are succesful businessmen, even if they have to do a little trickery to get there. That is the most common image of Trump. Trump also is a nationalist and is very competitive. He has other negative baggage but he could certainly win his fair share.

I don't doubt his motives, his intergrity or his skill. Just pointing out the interesting dichotomy in american society where on one side they want no government interference, such as with health care and financial reform, but on the other hand embrace protectionism to keep things american. It strikes me as trying to cut off the head of the monster they created themselves.

This is not true. The country is always split on this issue. Conservatives want free trade and liberals want protectionism. In an economic crisis there is always a shift towards protectionism. The same people who want free trade also push for less government as a general rule. Overall the USA has been a larger proponent of free trade and open markets since WWII.

My overall point was however that wealthy businessmen who flaunt their wealth like Trump are not viewed the same in the USA as in Norway. Very public extravagant lifestyles are more envied and respected by americans since we have never heard of jante laws.

But my point is that now a liberalist like Donald Trump is suddenly want protectionist policies. Cultural differencesbetween billionaires is irrelevant to me. What I pointe out is that a hypercapitalist like Trump becomes a hypocrite when he goes against the principles he has championed throughout his carreer fo political gain.

Spilt i cowboy-filmer.

And you have evidence he was always a free trader before? His business is real estate, not goods and services that get exported/imported.
