A question please

Hi folks,

 

I got an offer where I will be relocated from the London office to Oslo, but I know that Oslo is expensive. I will get a salary thats about 16 000 NOK after taxes. So I was wondering if I will be able to live on that amount with my own apartment?

 

I don't need something big and fancy, a one bedroom apartment will do the trick.

for 16 000 NOK you would be able to live without a problem as long as you can find an affordable place to rent.

 

most students in norway only have half of that ammount to live on and they manage. though living central in oslo is expensive (as in all major cities)

 

when it comes to food you can estimate that most products will cost about twice as much as it would in the UK.

Oh thanks! But I can see that a one bedroom apartment cost between 7000 and 8000 NOK, will I survive with only 8000 left?

I had 4000 NOK for food and other necessities and lived alright on that for a year so you wouldn't have any problems at 8000 as long as you don't waste a lot of cash out drinking or similar as the alcohol prices here would most likely scare the crap out of you (and I know that well as I am studying in the UK)
