MST Skrevet 7. februar 2010 Del Skrevet 7. februar 2010 Ja, skal levere en kort book report til i morgen så fint om noen kunne se igjenom denne.. Er raskt skrevet så er vel litt dårlig: Night without end is written by Alistair Maclean who was a Scottish novelist that wrote successful thrillers or adventure stories and he is probably most known for The Guns of Navarone and Where Eagles Date, both have been made into successful films. The book is a Thriller and Adventure book. The story is related in first person by its main character, Peter Mason. He is a doctor and the person in charge for the scientific station. He manages the rescue team and organizes the travel through the Polar ice cap to the coast to bring people to safety. I think that Peter does the right thing when he starts to investigate what happen to the airplane. Another character in the story is Jackstraw, he is a very skilled man with guns and he knows all about how to survive on the Greenland ice cap, and the radio operator Joseph London. These three people configure a team where everyone can rely on the other, because in such extreme conditions their survival depends on team work. The story takes place on the Greenland ice cap and the weather is really cold. The setting makes the story kind of exiting because the ice-cap seems to be kind of dark and scary and with the weather so cold I think the people realizes that they have to work together. The theme of the story has to be survival and I don’t really know if the author are trying to tell anything else than what’s told in the story, but the has the ability to make you think of who that actually killed the pilots of the airplane and how it happen. I can’t really say that I learnt anything from the book except from new English words and maybe a little bit of how it is to live on the Greenland ice-cap. So now you all my wonder how the story went and luckily for you I will explain some of the main parts of the story. In the middle of a stormy night, a British Airways airliner crashes on the Greenland ice cap. The scientific team rescues the passengers, there are ten survivors. Several following happenings make evident that the crash is not a simple accident and the rescue turns into a nightmare for the three scientists. What I think of the book is that it was exciting, because you always wonder what will happen and who that killed the pilots on the airplane. Also the author has a great ability to give you a sense of the place where the book is set. The story was a little hard to believe because the survivors manages to survive a crash and minus 50 degrees.

The story takes place on the Greenland Ice Cap, and logically, the weather is really cold. The setting makes the story kind of exiting, because the Ice-Cap seems to be dark and scary.
