Recently a friend of mine, a wizard of sorts, paid me a visit. As we were talking I mentioned having recently installed Windows XP on my PC and that I am very happy with this operating system. I also showed him the Windows XP CD. He gazed at it with some interest, and to my surprise he threw it into my microwave oven and turned it on. Instantly I became very upset, because the CD had become precious to me.

 

'Do not worry, it is unharmed.', he assured me. taking the CD out after a few moments.

 

'Here, hold it, it is quite cool.', he said as he handed me the CD. To my surprise the CD was indeed quite cold to hold and it seemed to be heavier than before.

 

'Can you see anything?', my friend inquired.

 

'No, there's nothing.', I said.

 

An such was true, at first I could not see anything, but then on the inner edge of the disc I saw an inscription; an inscription of flowing digits finer than anything I have ever seen before. The inscription shone piercingly bright, and yet remote, as if out of a great depth.

'Wait.', I said, 'There are markings. Some form of code. I can't read it.'

 

'There are few who can.', my friend rasped, 'The language is that of Microsoft, which I will not utter here. In the common tongue it says:'
