Intel i7 920. 100 grader, 0% load @ stock-kjøling!

Har en server med Intel i7 920 CPU som var bygde ny i sommer. Har bygd flere PC-er gjennom årene og bygde denne med ekstra stort omhu, og derfor tror jeg at jeg kanskje har fått en defekt CPU eller kjøleribbe.

 

Serveren står på 24/7, og snitt load er vel 0-1%. Likevel så ligger CPU mellom 85-100 grader, vanligvis rett under 100 i vanlig romtemperatur.

 

CPU er ikke overklokket og kjører med standardkjøleren. Serveren er noe ustabil for tiden, jeg er usikker på om dette skyldes temperaturen. Tidligere i sommer prøvde jeg å klokke CPU minimalt, noe som ikke tillot seg i hele tatt, restartet som oftest før Windows ble lastet, og skjønner nå at det må jo være pga ytterligere forhøyninger i temperaturen. Men nå kjører den helt plain stock.

 

Serveren har god luftgjennomstrømning, med ryddig kabling, og flere store og små strategisk plasserte vifter. Så dette er ikke problemet.

 

Tror dere at det kan være CPU eller kjøleribba som har en fabrikkfeil?

 

Legger med screenshot av to temperaturprogrammer, virker som Speedfan ikke leser riktig lenger, er jo et gammelt program så.

Stockkjøleren skal ta unna varmen godt nok, men forutsetter at den er montert korrekt. Har du sjekket at det ikke er noen glipper mellom ribba og CPU? Ikke for mye pasta?

Kabling etc rundt vifta har også mye å si for evnen til å transportere bort varmen.

Jada, alt er særdeles flott kablet om jeg må si det selv. Tror jeg kvadruppelsjekket CPU og kjøleren når jeg bygde den, dette var ikke noe jeg slang sammen på 5 min for å si det slik.

 

Eneste fallpunktet mitt er om jeg kan ha tatt feil ang pasta. På stockkjøleren følger det jo med et påsmørt fint lag med pasta, jeg trodde det ikke var nødvendig å tilføre ekstra pasta når prosessoren var ny?

Nå krasjet serveren igjen, prøvde å starte den opp rett etter at den slo seg av automatisk, men den ville ikke på før etter noen minutter. Helt tydelig at varmen som er problemet med ustabiliteten.

Ville uansett sjekket kjøleren skikkelig når det er pushpin, den kan ofte virke som den sitter fast mens den egentlig glipper på ene siden.

På i7 kan dette være nok til at du ikke får kjølet tilstrekkelig da Intel stock kjøleren har en overflate som knappt nok dekker kjernene.
