The following has been taken from the PC Gamer preview of H&D2.

 

Sadly for budding modification-makers, Hidden & Dangerous 2 won't be supporting mods upon its initial release. Peter Kubek: "There will not be any editing tools released due to our development environment - they were not developed to be released. However, as with Mafia, we're sure that players will see what they can achieve and we expect to see modifications appear for Hidden & Dangerous 2. Some of the members of the H&D2 team first started in computer game development by modding existing games."

 

This is extremely bad news for people like me. Hidden and Dangerous being my favourite game and the dreams of making my own levels for my favourite game are pretty much crushed. A lot of people I know were looking forward to a H&D2 editor but as it says above that won't be happening due to their "development environment".

 

No doubt H&D2 will be a good game but it won't be as great as I expected or hoped. I just hope that H&D2 attracts good modders.

 

Back in the early days of H&D2 we were told to expect an editor. Now among many release dates its false.

 

Even though the PC Gamer magazine has information on the multiplayer aspects of the game they don't mention any Co-op mode.

 

H&D2 was first flashed out as so much more than its going to be. Weapons and items cuts. Vehicle cuts. Story line changes. No Editor. Game mode changes.
