2 x PSU

Har laget en liten mod hvor jeg har installert to PSU'er i et midi chieftech kabinett. Den ene til til datahardwaren og den andre til vifter, lys etc. (så slipper jeg å brenne for mye utstyr).

Imidlertid så vil da den ene PSU en ikke starte da den ikke er tilkoblet et hovedkort. Hvordan kan jeg få fikset dette ?

ATX supplies

An ATX power supply will require extra wiring, but will negate the need for a second power switch on your case. The diagram below is a reference for the ATX connector block.

 

To control two psu's from your current power supply is pretty straightforward, but will require you to make some electrical connections. The quality of these connections is important, so take your time, solder all bare wire ends, use good quality connectors [12V automotive ones will do fine] and use decent insulation tape to tidy and electrically isolate each join. Concentrating on the secondary power supply, make the following connections:

Join wire 8 [Grey - power good] with any ground wire [black - ground], and make good the connection with insulation tape.

Join wire 14 [Green - power on] to wire 14 on the primary supply.

Join any earth wire to any earth wire on the primary supply.

Make good all connections.

You will then end up with the following:

 

That's it, job done. Make doubly sure of all the connections before you fire it all up for the first time. Basically it's green to green, and black to black.
