OCZ AMD Spinnin Wheel Netshop EK waterblocks -Goals- I would like to develop my previous design, lots of hot air was blown directly onto other components last time, thats gonna change, all the disks will go in the middle module, while the main comps stay in their own on top and bottom, there will be no more "PSU in the top right corner" type of thing, got OCZ on the team this time, and they will provide some awesome custom powersupplies for this project to sum it up : * 3 mobo slots (gonna get in a mATX instead of the mITX) * seperate disk case * seperate comp case * watercooled cpu's/gpu's * TO HELL WITH PLEXI, god i hate that material... * YES to andonized, cnc'ed alu * fully welded alu frame -hardware- PC1 : MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD Phenom II 955 8 GB OCZ FlexX DDR3 Radeon 4870x2 910w Silencer PC Power&Cooling PC2 : MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD Phenom II 955 8 GB OCZ FlexX DDR3 Radeon 4870x2 910w Silencer PC Power&Cooling PC3 : Asus M3A78-T AM2 AMD Phenom II 955 8 GB OCZ FlexX Radeon 4870x2 910w Silencer PC Power&Cooling Harddrives : 6 x : WD500GB, 7200rpm, IDE 16 x : WD500GB, 7200rpm, SATA 8 x : WD750GB, 7200rpm, SATA 4 x : WD1000GB, 7200rpm, SATA 2 x : WD1000GB, 7200rpm, E-SATA 4 x : SG80gb, 15000rpm, SAS 4 x : Seagate 1.5TB, 7200rpm, SATA Watercooling loop1 - Mainrig, gfx : OCZ Hydroflow cpu blocks EK 4870x2 and 4870 gfx blocks 1/2" hosing Iwaki MD15 pump 4x 360 rad's A new day, a new set of renders ! consept art Gonna post up some early renders on some thoughts and ideas this time around, feel free to contribute with ideas, they are greatly needed, as this is only the basic design without any awesome looking stuff Getting late at my place, gonna do a proper writeup tomorrow =) Stay tuned!
YAaAaaY! For some reason is having a front mounted screen really cool and hip these days... so how could this project be anything less =) Front mounted screens are supposedly used for computer monitoring or something... In the lack of something better to do i decided to get the planned screen out of its precious little hideout... Todays victim : 1x HP Compaq EVO 620 With the outrageous : 1.5ghz dual core pentium M 1gb memory 80gb hdd 15.5" LCD screen it even comes with a xp home licence And yes... i know it will count up as a 4th computer... but hey... need something to run the screen aswell 0.o Ran out of time, ill do a write up later =) enjoy the pics for now Had some more time at my hands so have been able to work a bit more on the screen and towards making some screen mounts to align the screen flat on the laptop, u wouldnt believe how small the screws used for stuff like this is .... talking about a half mm tick or something.... such a pain in the ass to get ahold off in the local stores Found a decent 1mm alu plate down in the working area... cut off a suitable piece and drilled some holes to get the screen attached.. Crazy small... Screen mounted up in its vertical position =) hopefully this should look good Aaand the other side =) There we go.... screen mounted up on the laptop, just flipped over the opposite was as normal, still have to solder some wires for the on/off button and the thumbstick =) Another thing that came to my attention today was the lian li brackets placed beneath the disk holders... that allow the holder to be removed from its baseplate... in my little world cant i really see the use of stuff like this beside taking alot of space... a decent 2 cm buildup on each of em... U can see the height difference quite well... they have to go... 8 done... gotta love hecksaws... *truly hate em* -.- should be able to start putting the rack together tomorrowish =) so a large update will come by then -Cg Lenke til kommentar

grevaeg Skrevet 24. juni 2009 Forfatter Del Skrevet 24. juni 2009 Hi guys! Been a stressfull day with lotsa stuff to do, but managed to get some more work done on the case today =) got the hdd holders in place atleast, its still somewhat crude though, need some polishing and filing ^^ Ah well... ill write down some more stuff soon, gonna post a ****load of pics now ^^ http://grevaeg.com/images/case010/tg240609/ Made a quick image gallery for those of you who want some larger pics ;O Here we go ... Visited my iron monger earlier this week and picked up some 5mm alu for the harddrive frame, should be sturdy enough.. however, have to cut it down as much as possible due to the massive weight.. Tape has allways been a decent tool for creativity So out with the jiggzaw and start cutting... think i wasted 1 blade for each plate i cut... Rubber mountings have been used to prevent the harddrive holders from getting any vibrations out troughout the case Holes was then cut out both to allow heat to travel around and partly to reduce weight... a 80mm hole of 5mm alu is easily 100g, close to a half kilo's off with just those holes, and hey... it looks somewhat cool Please check out the image gallery linked above for now guys, ill write up some more soon oh oh, and heres a small update on whats coming next Lenke til kommentar

grevaeg Skrevet 29. juni 2009 Forfatter Del Skrevet 29. juni 2009 Hi guys! Time for a update again =) Been quite busy with solidworks today, finalizing the more boring parts of this case for the laser to prosess. So should have the first batch of basic pieces tomorrow hopefully Been curious about what type of PSU's that will be powering up this cute thing? Guess ill throw out some workorders =) a HUGE thanks to OCZ for making this possible aswell..... wouldnt be possible without em Behold.... the allmighty PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910w PSU 1 : 24x sata, 4x molex, 4x PCIx - Technical drawing PSU 2 : 18x sata, 7x molex, 4x PCIx - Technical drawing PSU 3 : 18x sata, 7x molex, 4x PCIx - Technical drawing Expect a large update tomorrow guys =) 8x 250mm fans should be arriving along with 3 water res', 2 MSI mobo's, and some arctic silver, and the alu is hopefully delivered tomorrow aswell 0.o Lenke til kommentar
grevaeg Skrevet 30. juni 2009 Forfatter Del Skrevet 30. juni 2009 Hey guys! have had some time on my case again now, so heres a update ! ^^ The HDD rack As most of you probably have noticed have the HDD rack been somewhat doubtfull when it comes to a 25KG load of harddrives, so decided to cut up some more 5 mm alu for em, and mount em together, still had to keep the space in between though, since a mobo and the PSU's are coming in at some point Have also been drilling some holes to get the new bolts in to hold stuff together, ill be able to mill out some proper support's between the rack tomorrow, just didnt have enough time to finish today =) Laz0rz! OMFG, have seen a large ass CNC laser cutter in action today... quite a show... it managed to cut up a 2x2500x1250mm alu plate in under 12 minutes... now thats impressive.. However... have lost my bloody car keys somewhere. such a pain... had to take the 2nd best and get some tape to get the job done... gogo MC with alu tail or something.. Perfect fit? yes... would say so ^^ Front and back for middle module And the 17" LCD thats getting mounted up front (failed to mention that earlier, lol) First looks on the top module ^^ And some de-assembled mobo plate.... ... Placed down on the new backplate for the top module =) Kommentarer ! Lenke til kommentar
grevaeg Skrevet 3. juli 2009 Forfatter Del Skrevet 3. juli 2009 Hi guys, Gonna post up some pics of some work done yesterday, have completed the screen mount now, thats going for the midsection of the case Worked it out from a 2mm alu plate Lenke til kommentar
grevaeg Skrevet 6. juli 2009 Forfatter Del Skrevet 6. juli 2009 Norway is probably THE warmest country in the world right now... especially when ur working inside a large ass building with stainless steel plating -.- Anyways.... beside the freaking hot weather these days, what have Mr.Grevaeg been working on? ^^ His project ofcourse! Some general progress pics yes, its shrinked ill get back to this one The first set of 360 twin radiators After quite alot of thoughts and ideas on how to fit 4x 360 rads and 2x 240, ive finally found a solution for the first and second pair ^^ Theres alot of space on the bottom of each module, might aswell use it for something sooo.... placed em up, and got the 1/2" fittings in (why would people ever bother using anything less btw?!) The water ress . x3 Swiftech got some really cute water ress'es, they seem somewhat small, but really, why would u need 10 gallons in a ress? also comes with a fillport in the top, and possibilities to mount up nozzles at top, side and bottom, cant get much better then that imo PCP&C Silencer 910w ! Well my friends, they have arrived... and god.. ive never seen that many cables loose outside a case in my life... ill prolly have weeks infront of me to manage these. But then again, OCZ provided a perfect cut after measure's by me, so they deserve a huge applause for the work and dedication they put in their PSU's, still cant wait to get em up running, managed to plug one of em in and start em up, have heard alot of rumors that they are quite noisy, but i have to disagree there, no way in hell they are producing more then 26DB'ish lets get some pics out, shall we ? ^^ Guess thats all for now guys, ill work on getting some spacers on the bottom module tommorrow, and hopefully get ready to ship it for wet sanding within a few days, stay tuned ^^ -Cg Lenke til kommentar

grevaeg Skrevet 8. juli 2009 Forfatter Del Skrevet 8. juli 2009 Hi guys! update today Lets start up with a few words of frustration... since the cables comes unsleeved... i guess someone would have to pick it up and do some work on it... and guess what! that person would be me -.- I just tell myself..One day... ill get these bloody cables managed... a few of em got wrapped up today though, and more to come! Plug's, Pin's and awesome homemade tools! As most of you noticed doesnt the HDD cables come sleeved.... only one thing to do in this matter! just pick it all appart, and wish for good luck on the re-assembly ^^ u all remember were the start was.... Some trial and error had to be done before getting a decent result Didnt find anything suitable to push the cables into the sata power plugs, so had to improvice somewhat... turned out great, pushing cables like crazy ^^ Now u see it, now u dont! Been working on some ideas on how to hide the rest of the cable mess aswell, and believe ive found a good solution ^^ This would be the bottom of a 2 set piece of cable hiders for the majority of the PSU cables, will also house 4 pin molex for misc power in here, and stuff for cathodes and waterpumps Thats all for today folks, update again tomorrow Lenke til kommentar
