Dr. Chaos Skrevet 26. november 2008 Del Skrevet 26. november 2008 (endret) Our teacher has requested two speeches; one about the Commonwealth, and the other one about the Elizabethan times. I have started with the Commonwealth, and was wondering if somebody could help me with it. I have concluded that I will split it into these sections: Introduction Facts History Going deeper into one of the nations: Canada Summary or Introduction History Talking a little about some of the bigger/more known Commonwealth countries Going deeper into one of the nations: Canada Summary Any opinions on this? I had started working with it already, but OpenOffice had to encounter an unexpected error and crash, bringing my speech with me. I will get back with more. In the meantime: Thank you! The Commonwealth of Nations, or simply The Commonwealth is a voluntery association of 53 independent states. Most are former British colonies, and also Great Britian itself. The Commonwealth States co-operate and consult about their peoples, and promote international understanding. The Commonwealth includes known states, such as The UK, India, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Jamaica. Going deeper into India I have chosen to explore India a little more. With its billion inhabitants, India is the most populated member of the Commonwealth and the 2nd most populated country in the world. One thing India is known for is Mahatma Ghandi's fight for making India independent from Britian by using non-violentic ways such as disobedience, protesting and demostration marches. His religion was hinduism, and he was very inspired by hinduism on how to make India free. Ghandi eventually succeeded in making India independent, this happened in 1947. India's main religion is Hinduism. Hinduism is a very complex and old religion, and is also considered a culture. In Hinduism you have the cast system, which basically is a set of social casts where some are better and higher than others. You are born into your class, and it is hard to climb to a different class. You are also not allowed to marry somebody from another cast, and should mostly stick to your own cast.Hindis believe in karma, which is the result of your actions. If you had lived a bad life, you're born into a lower cast. If you had lived a good life, you're born into a higher cast. There are four maincasts ranging from highest to lowest: Priests, rulers and warriors, farmers, handworkers and merchants and workers and serveants. The cast system is forbidden today by a law from 1950, which Mahatma Gandhi supported. He once said «You are the change you make». However, the law is still used practically, mostly in the countryside. Lenke til kommentar
Johannne Skrevet 26. november 2008 Del Skrevet 26. november 2008 Fint språk! The Commonwealth of Nations — formerly the "British Commonwealth" — is a loose confederation of nations which were formerly members of the British Empire (with one exception, Mozambique, which was a Portuguese possession). The Commonwealth's membership includes both republics and monarchies. The (appointed, not hereditary) head of the Commonwealth of Nations is Queen Elizabeth II. She also reigns as monarch directly in a number of states, known as Commonwealth Realms, notably the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Jamaica and New Zealand. The Commonwealth of Nations is sometimes referred to as the New Commonwealth in a British context.

Very good work. Can you give me some tips about how to write english? Anyway very good written. Did you use a dictionary to transelate words? If you are to write the English language properly, you need to know proper grammar, know the correct spelling, and have correct punctation. Learning the new words is also important, and using the language regulary helps you get better.
